Double Flanged Bend
Keylion® Double Flanged Bend, also known in the field as ductile iron flanged elbow or 90° bend. This pipe fitting is made to alter flow direction inside pressurized water pipelines.
When installed, it guides the running water along a set radius. Both ends are equipped with flanges for bolt connection. The sealing works by tightening bolts to press the fitting flange against the matching pipe flange, with a rubber gasket sandwiched in the middle to achieve a tight compression seal.
Many of our project customers choose this fitting for municipal water supply lines, sewage treatment facilities and factory cooling loops. Its thick wall design can withstand high internal working pressure, as well as heavy soil loads when buried underground.

Q: When should I pick a small-angle bend (11.25° / 22.5°), rather than a standard 90° elbow?
A: We pick these small-angle bends to fine-tune pipeline routes on site. Field contractors use them to navigate around underground obstructions such as building foundations or other buried utility pipes. This design keeps friction and head loss low, so the pump system won't waste extra power.
Q: Can this rigid flanged elbow be buried directly underground?
A: Flanged pipe fittings perform well for exposed pipework, pump rooms and valve chambers. The bolted flange connection delivers tight, reliable sealing. Still, we normally warn clients not to bury them deep in zones with heavy soil settlement. If your construction site faces ground shifting risks, flexible MJ mechanical joints or push-on joints will be a better choice.
Q: Does this blue FBE coating suit potable water pipelines?
A: Yes. We coat both inner and outer surfaces with Fusion Bonded Epoxy powder coating, minimum thickness at 250 microns. This tough coating protects the ductile iron against rust and corrosive soil. It meets international hygiene standards, non-toxic and safe for drinking water and municipal water networks.
